【摘要】:Thistestmethodmaybeusedformaterialdevelopment,materialcomparison,qualityassurance,characterization,anddesigndatageneration.Continuousfiber-reinforcedceramicmatrixcompositesgenerallycharacterizedbyfinegrainsized(x003C;50x03BC;m)matricesandceramicfiberreinforcementsarecandidatematerialsforstructuralapplicationsrequiringhighdegreesofwearandcorrosionresistance,andhigh-temperatureinherentdamagetolerance(thatis,toughness).Inaddition,continuousfiber-reinforcedglass(amorphous)matrixcompositesarecandidatematerialsforsimilarbutpossiblyless-demandingapplications.Althoughflexuraltestmethodsarecommonlyusedtoevaluatestrengthsofmonolithicadvancedceramics,thenon-uniformstressdistributionoftheflexurespecimeninadditiontodissimilarmechanicalbehaviorintensionandcompressionforCFCCsleadtoambiguityofinterpretationofstrengthresultsobtainedfromflexuretestsforCFCCs.Uniaxial-loadedtensilestrengthtestsprovideinformationonmechanicalbehaviorandstrengthforauniformly-stressedmaterial.Unlikemonolithicadvancedceramicswhichfracturecatastrophicallyfromasingledominantflaw,CFCCsgenerallyexperiencex201C;gracefulx201D;fracturefromacumulativedamageprocess.Therefore,thevolumeofmaterialsubjectedtoauniformtensilestressforasingleuniaxially-loadedtensiletestmaynotbeassignificantafactorindeterminingtheultimatestrengthsofCFCCs.However,theneedtotestastatisticallysignificantnumberoftensiletestspecimensisnotobviated.Therefore,becauseoftheprobabilisticnatureofthestrengthdistributionsofthebrittlematricesofCFCCs,asufficientnumberoftestspecimensateachtestingconditionisrequiredforstatisticalanalysisanddesign.StudiestodeterminetheexactinfluenceoftestspecimenvolumeonstrengthdistributionsforCFCCshavenotbeencompleted.Itshouldbenotedthattensilestrengthsobtainedusingdifferentrecommendedtensilespecimenswithdifferentvolumesofmaterialinthegagesectionsmaybedifferentduetothesevolumedifferences.Tensiletestsprovideinformationonthestrengthanddeformationofmaterialsunderuniaxialtensilestresses.Uniformstressstatesarerequiredtoeffectivelyevaluateanynon-linearstress-strainbehaviorwhichmaydevelopastheresultofcumulativedamageprocesses(forexample,matrixcracking,matrix/fiberdebonding,fiberfracture,delamination,etc.)whichmaybeinfluencedbytestingmode,testingrate,processingoralloyingeffects,orenvironmentalinfluences.Someoftheseeffectsmaybeconsequencesofstresscorrosionorsubcritical(slow)crackgrowththatcanbeminimizedbytestingatsufficientlyrapidratesasoutlinedinthistestmethod.Theresultsoftensiletestsoftestspecimensfabricatedtostandardizeddimensionsfromaparticularmaterialorselectedportionsofapart,orboth,maynottotallyrepresentthestrengthanddeformationpropertiesoftheentire,full-sizeendproductoritsin-servicebehaviorindifferentenvironments.Forqualitycontrolpurposes,resultsderivedfromstandardizedtensiletestspecimensmaybeconsideredindicativeoftheresponseofthematerialfromwhichtheyweretakenfor,givenprimaryprocessingconditionsandpost-processingheattreatments.ThetensilebehaviorandstrengthofaCFCCaredependentonitsinherentresistancetofracture,thepresenceofflaws,ordamageaccumulationprocesses,orboth.Analysisoffracturesurfacesandfractography,thoughbeyondthescopeofthistestmethod,ishighlyrecommended.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftensilebehaviorincluding......
