【摘要】:Thepermissiblelevelofheavymetalsincertaincoatingsisspecifiedbygovernmentalregulatoryagencies.Thistestmethodprovidesafullydocumentedprocedurefordetermininglowconcentrationsofmercurypresentinbothwaterandsolvent-reduciblecoatingstodeterminecompliance.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthecontentofmercuryintherangebetween10and1000ppm(mg/kg)presentinliquidcoatings,coatingsvehicles,orindriedfilmsobtainedfrompreviouslycoatedsubstrates.Thereisnoreasontobelievethathigherlevelscouldnotbedeterminedbythistestmethod,providedthatappropriatedilutionsandadjustmentsinspecimensizeandreagentquantitiesaremade.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardstatementsaregiveninSection7and9.1.1.
